iBasis Names Consumer and Mobile Telecom Veteran to Head Retail Business

BURLINGTON, Mass. -- iBasis, Inc. (OTCBB: IBAS), the leader in international long distance, VoIP, and prepaid calling cards, today announced that it has named Timothy Enright, senior vice president, Retail. He will be responsible for driving growth of the company's Retail business, which includes prepaid calling cards sold through distributors and the Pingo prepaid service which is sold online at www.pingo.com. Enright brings more than 20 years of sales and marketing experience in consumer telecommunications.
"We have made tremendous progress growing our Retail business over a short period, achieving an annual run-rate of $70 million, based on results of the third quarter 2005," said Ofer Gneezy, president and CEO of iBasis. "We are building on that achievement by adding proven executive talent. Tim's success in developing sales and distribution channels for consumer services in the mobile industry will be a tremendous asset in moving our Retail business to the next level."
Prior to joining iBasis, Enright developed Nextel's wireless phone business as area vice president for New England, achieving annual revenue of $750 million and a three-year growth rate in subscribers of 75%. He was named Nextel's #1 area vice president for 2002 and 2003. Enright has also played leadership roles in the wireless businesses of Sprint PCS and CellularOne in New York and New England. He received a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts.
