Business Wire, July 10, 2006
CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Tech Data Corporation (NASDAQ:TECD), a leading distributor of IT products, today announced Sherri P. Nadeau has been promoted to senior vice president, Human Resources. Nadeau joined Tech Data earlier this year as vice president, Human Resources, with responsibility for the company's Americas region. In her new role, she will be the company's chief Human Resources officer, overseeing Tech Data's extensive worldwide human resources functions and managing human capital issues for more than 8,000 employees in 26 countries.
Nadeau assumed her current position after Lawrence W. Hamilton resigned from Tech Data June 30. Hamilton joined Tech Data in 1993 and is planning to focus more time on personal family health issues and the completion of his doctoral dissertation. "We're incredibly grateful for Lawrence's years of service, tireless dedication and the key role he played in helping Tech Data grow into an international market leader," said Tech Data Chairman and CEO Steve Raymund. "As we move forward and continue to build upon our legacy of success, I'm confident that Sherri's contributions will be equally valuable. Already familiar with our operations, Sherri joined Tech Data with a very strong human resources background, including significant experience directing international HR matters."
Nadeau has more than 20 years experience in human resources and finance. Before Tech Data, she was senior vice president, Human Resources for Certegy Inc. in St. Petersburg, Fla., and senior vice president for Savvis Communications in Herndon, Va. She also held senior human resources positions with Universal Studios in Los Angeles and Osaka, Japan, and with Holiday Inn Worldwide in Atlanta. Prior to her human resources career, Nadeau worked in public accounting for KPMG. She is a certified public accountant and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., and a master's degree in accounting and tax from the University of Virginia.
