Alltel Enables Mobile Sales Professionals to Take Credit Card Payments

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Mobile sales professionals now will be able to accept credit card payments in the field using the MobileCharge solution on select handsets from Alltel Wireless (NYSE:AT), America's largest network.
"MobileCharge gives sales professionals the freedom to take secure, real-time payments outside of the office," said Elisabeth Owen, president of wireless business solutions for Alltel. "MobileCharge is a great tool for companies whose salesforces routinely meet clients in the field. Working on Alltel's wireless network, it improves cash flow by enabling immediate payment and saves money by reducing back-office expenses."
The MobileCharge software, developed by MobileVision, is being bundled with a magnetic stripe reader and printer from Infinite Peripherals. It works on the BlackBerry 7250 and 7130e and the Palm Treo from Alltel.
