SYNNEX Corporation to Distribute Fortinet's Multi-Threat Security Systems; Distribution Partnership Expands Fortinet's Reach in North America and Adds Market-Leading UTM Security Vendor to SYNNEX Line Card
Business Wire, July 13, 2006
FREMONT, Calif. -- SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE:SNX), a global IT supply chain services company, announced today it has signed a strategic distribution partnership agreement with Fortinet, Inc., a pioneer and leading provider of multi-threat security solutions. This new partnership expands Fortinet's North American distribution network and enables SYNNEX Corporation to distribute Fortinet's suite of market-leading integrated security appliances, including the FortiGate(TM), FortiManager(TM), FortiAnalyzer(TM) and FortiMail(TM) systems.
Fortinet offers an array of multi-threat security solutions that help businesses of all sizes meet their security challenges and enable a safe and clean communications environment. Leveraging a custom ASIC and unified security applications and services, Fortinet offers advanced security solutions that scale from remote office to chassis-based systems with integrated management and reporting. The company's flagship line of FortiGate integrated security systems detects and eliminates the most damaging, content-based threats from email and Web traffic such as viruses, worms, intrusions, inappropriate Web content and more in real time - without degrading network performance. FortiGate systems integrate a broad suite of security protections - including Fortinet-developed antivirus, firewall, SSL and IPSec VPN, intrusion prevention (IPS), Web filtering, antispam, antispyware, and traffic shaping - that can be deployed individually or combined for a comprehensive unified threat management solution.
"Network security remains a top business concern and my small and medium business (SMB) customers continue to look for superior solutions to remain on the cutting edge," said Dennis Lamm, Vice President of MDL Enterprise, Inc. "The addition of Fortinet's integrated security suite to SYNNEX' strong solutions focus creates a very compelling product offering."
"Fortinet pioneered the unified threat management (UTM) space with its ASIC-accelerated FortiGate security appliances that integrate essential security functionality onto a single appliance platform," said John Paget, President of North America at SYNNEX Corporation. "There is strong demand for UTM appliances and adding Fortinet's market-leading suite of products to our robust security offering opens the door for value-added resellers (VARs) to provide superior security solutions to the SMB/SME, MSSP and Enterprises."
"We selected SYNNEX as a key distribution partner based on its extensive network of North American VARs and its strong focus on offering complete solutions rather than simply pushing products," said Chris Andrews, Vice President of Americas for Fortinet, Inc. "We believe SYNNEX' solid distribution capabilities, integration expertise and network of thousands of resellers will enable Fortinet to reach many new customers and establish an even stronger foothold in the network security market."
