3i Infotech's PREMIA™ to Streamline Policy and Claim Administration at Healthcare Providers Insurance Company; 3i Infotech continues commitment to medical malpractice lines
Business Wire, July 17, 2006
EDISON, N.J. -- 3i Infotech (www.3i-infotech.com), a global provider of IT solutions and services, announced Healthcare Providers Insurance Company (HPIC) has selected PREMIA(TM) to administer to the medical malpractice insurance lines it provides to members of the Mississippi Hospital Association, (MHA) and other health care providers. A Risk Retention Group sponsored by the MHA, HPIC serves the liability insurance needs of Mississippi hospitals and other health care providers.
Prior to selecting PREMIA(TM), HPIC did not have an automated system in place to manage its multiple medical malpractice insurance lines. PREMIA(TM) will provide HPIC a modular and scalable solution that will enable it to streamline processes to meet the demands of its growing lines of business. Having been pre-configured to meet the special requirements of the medical malpractice insurance industry, PREMIA(TM), offers a single platform solution that supports rating and quoting, policy administration, claims, reinsurance and accounting. The business benefits are further enhanced by a powerful reporting module that supports management in critical business decisions.
"We decided against building an in-house solution and chose PREMIA(TM) over competitively-priced solutions because of its superior built-in functionality that went beyond our requirements," said Steven D. Weeks, Director of Marketing, HPIC. "We were further impressed by its ability to handle the unique challenges of the medical malpractice industry and how it can be rolled out within 60 days."
HPIC will utilize PREMIA(TM) Collaborator, a secure, self-service Web portal, providing hospitals and physicians the ability to print out certificates of insurance, loss summaries and policy information. "This enhanced offering will enable hospitals and doctors to manage their workflow more efficiently. We expect PREMIA(TM) to exceed our expectations by reconfiguring our workflow so that operations run more efficiently rather than becoming more complex," Weeks continued.
"Before PREMIA(TM), our business units were still running on disparate systems and manually tracking transactions with spreadsheets. Now we can expect increased productivity and customer service as the number of our subscribers continues to grow," said Larry Bourne, President and CEO, HPIC.
"By streamlining the medical claims and administration process at HPIC, we expect to improve customer service while at the same time decreasing processing time for transactions," said Vivek Sethia, Vice President - Insurance, 3i Infotech. "With PREMIA(TM), we are striving to set the standard of delivering immense value to the medical insurance industry."
