JDA Software Promotes Philip Boland to Senior Vice President, Worldwide Consulting Services; Appointment Strengthens Customer Value after Manugistics Acquisition, Consulting Services to Be Headquartered in Rockville, Md
Business Wire, July 20, 2006
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS) today announced the promotion of Philip Boland to senior vice president for worldwide consulting services. Boland is charged with bolstering customer value and ensuring the seamless delivery of consulting practices operating in the Asia Pacific (ASPAC -- including India), Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and the Americas (Latin America, Canada and the United States) regions.
Boland will be instrumental in taking JDA into a new era in which its consulting services, boosted by the acquisition of Manugistics Inc., further drive customer success and company growth. Boland will relocate from Melbourne, Australia, to the former Manugistics offices in Rockville, Md., which will be the headquarters of JDA's consulting business.
"The successful track record that Philip has demonstrated at JDA through the years and his strategic, business operations and international expertise provides him with the unique insight and knowledge to successfully support our customers," said JDA CEO Hamish Brewer. "During the past few years, JDA has created a world-class consulting group. With the Manugistics acquisition, Philip is tasked with taking our already successful consulting business to the next level to provide sustained progress for both JDA and our customers for years to come."
In his new role, Boland will work to provide a consistent and improved JDA customer experience across the board, while remaining sensitive to each country's cultures, language and specific business needs. Boland will work to ensure the same level of success across all regions and within each country.
"It is all about our customers," said Boland. "Every decision that is made to improve the consulting services group will be done with our customers in mind. It is my goal to ensure that each customer utilizing our consulting services will experience top-quality service, leverage the exceptional process and technical skills of our consultants and achieve real results while implementing our software solutions."
Delivering Optimum Customer Value as a Single Organization
After the Manugistics acquisition, JDA has a team of approximately 500 consultants with diverse skill sets and deep industry and software application expertise. Boland will manage the transition to provide comprehensive consulting services through the entire supply and demand chain while continuing to deliver quality service as a single organization. By taking advantage of synergies of the newly combined consulting group, Boland will streamline business processes by applying best practices from both groups, and develop new services offerings to deliver even greater value to customers. Boland will also leverage resources throughout the company including the technical expertise of JDA's Performance Engineering team and the business process expertise of the Business Management Institute (BMI) group to further optimize customer offerings.
Boland Brings Solid International and Customer Experience to New Role
Since joining JDA in 1996 to lead the company's entry into Australia and New Zealand, Boland has served in a variety of leadership positions over the Asia Pacific region. He most recently held the position of regional vice president of customer solutions and services for Asia Pacific.
Boland joined JDA from the IT/Retail consulting practice of Price Waterhouse, Australia. He also served as vice president of development and professional services for Uniquest Inc., formerly PRJ& a global supplier of retail application solutions and implementation services in the United States and Europe. Boland began his career at Coles Myer, Australia's then largest retailer, where he held management positions in the buying, sales and IT departments for 10 years.
Boland has a bachelor's degree in Arts (Economics) from the University of Melbourne and a post graduate diploma in Marketing from the David Syme Business School at the Caulfield Institute of Technology (Monash University).
