Clear Channel Radio today announced that new, unique music venues sponsored by Coca-Cola(R), dubbed Tab Energy Lounge and Full Throttle Garage after popular energy drinks, have opened their doors to Dallas radio listeners. These venues, with seats that can be won on-air on Clear Channel Radio stations, are expected to host approximately 50 mini-concerts this year. Clear Channel Radio is also delivering this unique experience to fans online with streams of the performances available exclusively on the Web sites of all Clear Channel Radio stations in Dallas.
"The Tab Energy Lounge/Full Throttle Garage provide an intimate performance environment where artists can connect with their fans, both in the lounge and on their computer screens," said J.D. Freeman, Regional Vice President, Market Manager of Clear Channel Radio in Dallas. "In sponsoring these lounges, even the world's most valuable brand realizes benefits from the reach and personal connection that is unique to radio."
"We are always looking for new and different ways to bring value to our bands and customers," said Randy Meza, Director of Marketing Activation, Coca-Cola North America Southwest Region. "The Tab Energy Lounge/Full Throttle Garage is an exciting new intersection that combines music and energy in a relevant experience, not only for consumers but our retail partners as well."
Not only is Coca-Cola(R) wowed by the sponsorship, artists themselves view the lounge as an opportunity to get up close and personal with their audience. "Dave Navarro, former guitarist for Jane's Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was blown away by our Full Throttle Garage," said Kim Garrett, Director of Integrated Marketing, Clear Channel Dallas. "He said it was the coolest vibe he has experienced yet while touring with his new band The Panic Channel."
Based on the early success of the Tab Energy Lounge/Full Throttle Garage in drawing big name acts such as Dave Navarro, Lifehouse, Los Lonely Boys and The Fray, The Coca-Cola Company is considering the expansion of the sponsorship to bring similar music venues to other major cities. Potential markets include Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Phoenix, New York, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle.
