Symantec AntiVirus for NAS provides real-time virus protection for valuable data stored on the StoreVault S500 by using Symantec's trusted, award-winning antivirus technology to detect viruses, worms and Trojan horses in all major file types, including mobile code and compressed file formats. Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers provides leading Windows(R) data protection and is designed for disk to provide comprehensive, certified backup and recovery, including continuous data protection. CommVault and StoreVault will bundle Galaxy Express Backup & Recovery with the StoreVault S500 to provide an end-to-end backup solution with enterprise-proven storage capabilities, attractively priced for the cost-sensitive SMB market (please see separate news release at http://www.netapp.com/news/). With CommVault Galaxy Express, the StoreVault S500 offers low-cost, high-performance data protection for fast backup and object-level recovery of a file system or application server system. The CommVault Galaxy Express bundle includes a license for Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP) data protection for network-based backup of NAS devices, improving backup performance for NAS by moving data the shortest distance and making it no longer necessary to pull backup data over a LAN and through a backup server. The CommVault Galaxy Express package also includes support for tape libraries, providing added value to SMB customers.
--IBM(R) Tivoli(R) Continuous Data Protection (CDP) for Files. IBM Tivoli Continuous Data Protection for Files provides data protection on notebooks and desktops and is specifically designed to modernize and automate the data protection experience of a broad range of end users. IBM Tivoli Continuous Data Protection for Files offers a blend of replication, continuous protection, versioning, and traditional scheduled backup, all in one very easy-to-use package. SMBs can load the IBM CDP software on a workstation or laptop to automatically create immediate local copies of a file the moment it is changed and send copies externally when the user connects to the network. In addition, deleted or previous versions of changed files can be instantaneously restored locally or from the StoreVault S500 to help guard against data loss.
--McAfee(R) Total Protection for Small Business. Combined with the StoreVault S500, McAfee Total Protection provides an always-on, always-up-to-date solution for companies that lack security budgets or resources to protect their business. Delivered as a security software service, McAfee Total Protection installs quickly to provide integrated protection against viruses, spyware, hackers, and identity thieves, along with a single centralized management console, to protect the critical data stored on the StoreVault S500. Designed from the ground up, the Total Protection System offers a simple, integrated, remotely managed solution with low administrative cost.
Qualified StoreVault VARs now have access to advanced third-party software packages that can be implemented with the StoreVault S500 to further protect, manage, and restore data. The StoreVault S500, combined with leading third-party software, provides a powerful all-in-one network storage solution to complement SMB customers' backup strategies, implement a new strategy, or migrate to a more efficient and flexible network security architecture.
"Software packages for current SMB solutions have either been too limited or too broad and only worked well with a specific product or required additional licenses," said Dan Nickel, President of NITECH. "With third-party solutions from Symantec, CommVault, IBM, and McAfee for the StoreVault S500, we can provide added value to our SMB customers. The StoreVault S500 already addresses key pain points around data protection and backup with StoreVault Snapshot(TM) technology. We can now provide our SMB customers access to new advanced products from leading software vendors for greater data protection and security. Nowhere else in the industry can SMBs get such complete security and backup support options at a price tailored for the SMB."
