Business Wire, July 25, 2006
FREMONT, Calif. -- InterVideo(R), Inc. (NASDAQ:IVII), an industry leader in next-generation DVD and multimedia software, announced today the release of the much-anticipated InterVideo DVD Copy 5(TM) Platinum. This follow-up to the successful DVD Copy series includes a number of new features and innovations that makes it the best choice for disc copying and backup needs.
More than just a copy program, InterVideo DVD Copy 5 Platinum is the fastest disc backup software on the market that can be used to copy unencrypted movies, file and backup data, or merge multiple video files and burn to a single DVD in three easy steps.
According to Steve Ro, CEO and President of InterVideo, "DVD Copy 5 is the latest of our product offerings that reach out to the broadest range of devices -- PCs, 3G phones and other handheld devices such as the Sony(R) PSP(TM) and the iPod(R). Now, everyone can truly watch broadcast-quality videos anywhere, anytime. The best part is, they don't have to trade resolution and quality with convenience, as they can now enjoy both."
Featuring CopyLater(TM) technology, DVD Copy 5 Platinum offers the convenience of high-quality output performed when the computer is idle, allowing uninterrupted batch conversion of videos while the user is somewhere else or asleep. The new TV Show to Go(TM) feature can regularly check your PC for new TV recorded shows and video downloads then automatically convert them. DVD Copy 5 can even automatically calculate the best audio and video bit-rate settings to save space, and can schedule transfers to their portable devices at specified times.
DVD Copy 5 also allows the importing of high-definition WMV, AVI, DVR-MS, and MPEG-2 video files with resolutions up to 1920 x 1080. Users can even import video from the Sony HDR-HC1, HDR-HC3, and HDR-FX1 camcorders. The software also permits conversion of video files into H.264/MPEG-4 AVC, a format that combines excellent quality with great compression. DVD Copy 5 is also ideal for converting videos for portable devices such as Sony PSP handhelds, or iPod video players, using the same technology featured in InterVideo's iVideoToGo(TM) for PSP and iVideoToGo for iPod. Additionally, DVD Copy 5 also can also convert videos for 3G-enabled mobile phones.
For output, DVD Copy 5 supports DVD R/RW (4.7 GB), DVD - R/RW (4.7 GB), DVD (4.85GB), DVD - RAM, Dual layer DVD R (8.5GB), Dual layer DVD - R (8.5GB), as well as conventional CD-R and CD-RWs. In addition, DVD Copy 5 features Virtual Drive and Disctool Support so users can mount DVD images on their HDD, eliminating the need for popping CDs for often-used programs, games, and videos. Users can even rip audio tracks from DVDs and convert them into audio CDs.
