Here are highlights from Friday's Analyst Blog:
AAP Reduces Its Guidance
Advance Auto Parts (NYSE: AAP) reduced its guidance for the second quarter to 57-59 cents per share. This is due to a drop in same store growth from 4-5% to 1-2%. This is due to a slowdown in demand from the low-end consumer, who is pinched by higher gas prices and higher interest rates. The stock is a Hold with a target of $30.
Need Visibility on SCRX
Sciele Pharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: SCRX) is a specialty pharmaceutical company engaged in the sale of prescription products for the treatment of cardiovascular, metabolic, obstetrical and gynecological, and pediatric and gastroenterological conditions and disorders. The company's broad focus and deep product pipeline offers substantial growth opportunities over the next several years.
Yet, competition is high for almost all the key products and we regard the successful navigation of these issues as risky. The stock offers a compelling valuation but we currently rate the shares only a hold based on limited visibility.
