German Savings Bank Aurich-Norden Converts All ATMs to NCR; Flexibility of the NCR Personas M Series Convinces Bank to Transition Fleet

DAYTON, Ohio -- Aurich-Norden, a savings bank based in East Friesland, Germany, has signed a major contract with NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) to completely convert its self-service channel to NCR self-service systems, replacing older units from competitors.

The contract includes 21 new NCR Personas M Series 76 automated teller machines (ATMs), as well as NCR Personas Print account statement printers, NCR Personas 77 interior ATMs and NCR Personas M Series 86 exterior ATMs. As a result, the bank group now has approximately 57 NCR cash machines and 64 NCR account statement printers at its disposal.

The Personas M Series 76 is a highly-configurable and upgradeable solution. Savings Bank Aurich-Norden will install a number of the new Personas M Series 76 units as cash withdrawal only. Other units will serve as combined cash dispense and cash deposit systems, while some will be set up to recycle cash. Cash recycling, which is popular in some countries outside of the United States, provides the capability to issue previously deposited cash to subsequent customers who request a cash withdrawal. This solution helps migrate more transactions to self-service while gaining efficiencies, such as freeing teller time, reducing cash-in-transit collection costs and minimizing overall cash-management expense.
