Unica Positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant in Analyst Firm's ''Magic Quadrant'' for Enterprise Marketing Management
Business Wire, July 5, 2006
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Unica(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:UNCA), a global provider of Enterprise Marketing Management (EMM) solutions, today announced the company has been positioned in the "Visionaries" quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s "Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Marketing Management, 2Q06."(1) According to Gartner, Inc., "Enterprise marketing management (EMM) provides a platform for the entire marketing department, including all roles, functions and processes." Gartner defines visionaries as vendors who "have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but they can still improve in terms of optimizing service and delivery."
Commenting further on the market, the report states, "We see emerging interest in creating a platform for EMM that supports integrated marketing processes across a variety of marketing roles and functions. For organizations that have already invested significantly in a variety of marketing technologies, this may involve first consolidating and integrating applications. Those that have not automated their marketing functions tend to begin the process of evaluation from a broader vision and expect a larger set of capabilities from one vendor, including a service-oriented platform with highly configurable role-based applications."
"We are honored to be among the vendors placed in Gartner's first Enterprise Marketing Management Magic Quadrant," said Yuchun Lee, Unica CEO. "Gartner's coverage of EMM indicates a growing interest in investing in software and solutions to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness and accountability of the marketing function. Increasingly, companies are recognizing the value and measurable impact of high-performance marketing and are making strategic investments to support their marketing teams."
In recent months, Unica has strengthened its market position and solution offerings with two acquisitions adding enterprise Web analytics, sophisticated event-detection, and bolstering lead and sales referral management. Supporting the company's growth, Unica's second quarter announcements included the opening of a new office in Spain and significant client wins in the business-to-consumer and business-to-business markets.
For this report, Gartner placed vendors in a specific quadrant based on their ability to execute in areas such as customer data mining, campaign management, marketing resource management, architecture flexibility and usability. Other criteria included companies' completeness of vision extending strategies to areas such as marketing, sales and business. In further describing the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the Magic Quadrant of Enterprise Marketing Management, Gartner noted that "because of the immaturity of users and vendor offerings in the market, there are no leaders in this market."
