uReach Technologies Successfully Completes VoIP Interoperability Testing with Nortel
Business Wire, July 5, 2006
HOLMDEL, N.J. -- uReach Technologies (www.ureachtech.com), a leading provider of converged communication solutions for fixed-line, mobile, and broadband service providers, announced today that its IMS-compliant, Converged Services Framework (CSF) has completed interoperability testing with Nortel's Communication Server (CS) 2000 softswitch and Multimedia Communication Server (MCS) 5200.
uReach's CSF was tested with the CS 2000 version SN09 and MCS 5200 version 3.0 in Nortel's testing laboratories in Ontario, Canada. The Voice over IP (VoIP) standards interoperability testing included Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP).
"Nortel plays a pivotal role in our customers' next generation network and IMS strategies. Our ability to provide proven compatibility on day-one is critical to helping to meet their time-to-market requirements and deliver a truly market-ready solution" said Rich Vidil, uReach Technologies' SVP of Engineering and Operations.
uReach and Nortel have delivered SIP-interoperable solutions based on uReach's Converged Services Framework with Verizon in the Dominican Republic and SaskTel in Canada. Leveraging a standards-based software architecture running on open systems, uReach's Converged Services Framework was designed from the ground up to meet service providers' stringent requirements for reliability and availability, while remaining cost-effective to deploy and operate. uReach further differentiates itself by offering both a turn-key managed service and fully-licensed solution for service providers. uReach's portfolio includes products such as Fixed Mobile Convergence, Single Number Service, Audio-SMS, and Converged Messaging.
Nortel's IMS solutions are one of the most open implementations in the market. Nortel is sponsoring the MultiService Forum's upcoming interop event, Global MSF Interoperability (GMI) 2006, the world's first massive "real network" trial of multi-vendor interoperability of the IMS service framework. GMI 2006, scheduled for Oct 16-27, will test multi-vendor interoperability to achieve Fixed Mobile Convergence supporting the IMS service framework.
