"Protecting the privacy of patient information is critical. ZixCorp offered the best solution because it is transparent to end users and the encryption key exchange is automatic. ZixCorp's encryption service will enforce RWHC member hospitals' email policies to ensure secure handling of sensitive data for up to 650 users. The service includes a pre-configured lexicon that automatically detects and encrypts emails that contain protected health information (PHI) to help meet the email security mandates of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
"ZixCorp secured the email of this large hospital network in under 24 hours and allowed RWHC to focus on its core business of patient care instead of worrying about email security," said Rick Spurr, chief executive officer for ZixCorp.
