Empirix Expands Offerings for Self-Service Web Applications and SOA with e-TEST Suite 8.1; Latest version of e-TEST suite provides expanded Web Services/SOA testing support and enhanced test automation and management capabilities

Business Wire, June 15, 2006

BEDFORD, Mass. -- Empirix(R) Inc., which helps organizations adopt complex communications solutions with confidence, today announced e-TEST suite 8.1. The latest version of Empirix's flagship automated Web testing solution, e-TEST suite 8.1 introduces enhanced test automation and test management capabilities intended to help enterprises deploy high quality Web applications and Web Services in less time.

New features of e-TEST suite 8.1 include:

--Enhancements to e-Manager Enterprise for managing the application test process including expanded support for manual test case management and execution, enhanced scheduling capabilities for unattended regression testing and new third party test case execution support

--Improved reporting and diagnostics capabilities in e-Load including a new Web reporting interface and expanded server monitoring capabilities, enabling users to collaboratively analyze application performance under load and identify and address bottlenecks

--Enhanced test automation capabilities for ensuring the quality of Web Services and Services-Oriented Architectures (SOA) including a new scripting interface and improved WSDL file parsing capabilities for automatically generating Web Services scripts

Empirix customer Loyalty Partners was among the first organizations to implement this new version of e-TEST suite. "e-TEST suite has had a major impact on our quality assurance practices," said Heinz Berberich, QA Engineer, of Loyalty Partners. "It enables us to test complex transactions very easily, which means we can do more thorough testing in less time. We've also found that it provides deep insight into the customer experience that we were not getting from our previous testing tools."

The only testing solution specifically designed for testing Web applications and Web Services, e-TEST suite allows users to validate application functionality, performance and manage all of their testing activities from a single integrated solution. This enables users to shorten test cycles and focus their attention on their applications rather than managing their testing tools.

According to Joe Fernandes, Director of Product Management, Web Solutions for Empirix, e-TEST suite 8.1 represents another step forward in enabling users to rapidly deploy their Web applications with confidence. "e-TEST suite users have always relied on best-of-breed support for Web test automation," explained Fernandes. "With e-TEST suite 8.1 we have continued to expand on our Web Services testing capabilities while also improving our support for manual testing and helping users manage the overall test process."
