Business Wire, June 15, 2006
NEEDHAM, Mass. -- The Object Management Group(TM) (OMG(TM)) today announced that it was a winner in the categories "Modeling" and "Business Process Management" in the annual "SD Times 100" award issue.
OMG is an open membership, international organization of information system vendors, software vendors, and IT end-user companies. Through its members, the OMG produces and maintains specifications for interoperable software for the enterprise and Internet, for real-time and safety-critical applications, for embedded systems, and other networked environments.
In the Modeling category, SD Times notes, "As the shepherd to UML(R), the industry consortium continued to advance the practice of modeling; its merger with BPMI.org now brings it into modeling of business processes."
SD Times also recognizes OMG in the Business Process Management category, saying, "In June, combined its BPM efforts with those of the Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org) to take the lead for all major vendors in the segment."
"The winners of this year's SD Times 100 awards have demonstrated their leadership in shaping the software development industry," said David Rubinstein, Editor-in-Chief of SD Times. "We took into account each nominee's products and services, its reputation among development managers, and the new ideas it brought out. These select individuals and organizations are the ones we've identified as helping to move the art of development forward."
"OMG and our members have been advancing software standards for more than 17 years. We are happy to see that our hard work and dedication to software development have been recognized by the industry and SD Times," said Dr. Richard Soley, chairman & CEO of OMG.
