Robbins-Gioia Appoints Joseph F. Norton as First Senior Fellow, Robbins-Gioia Center for Management Excellence

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of program management services, is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph F. Norton, PMP, as the first senior fellow for the Robbins-Gioia Center for Management Excellence. Norton was selected for his longstanding eminence in the field of portfolio management. "This appointment is especially notable given Robbins-Gioia's 25 years of pioneering the program management industry and its leadership in project portfolio management (PPM) excellence," said Herman Velasquez, Robbins-Gioia's president, commercial division. "Joe Norton is at the top of the list in PPM background and experience."
A senior fellow at the Center for Research on Technology and Innovation, Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Norton also frequently lectures at the school's MBA program on IT project management for executives, risk management, IT investment analysis, portfolio management, and outsourcing. Additionally, he plays a significant role in developing and delivering the Kellogg School executive education program, Driving Strategic Results through IT Portfolio Management.
A principal for the SOCHIN Consulting Group, Norton brings his firm into partnership with Robbins-Gioia to advise R-G as it increases its commercial base. Norton brings a breadth and depth of experience to this role, having served as executive-in-residence with McKinsey and Company, vice president and chief technology officer of the McDonald's Corporation, vice president of corporate technology for JPMorgan Bank, and vice president and chief technology officer of the National Transportation Exchange. Norton has also held senior professional and executive roles with Grumman Aerospace Corporation, Sybase, Inc. and Oracle Corporation. As a consultant, his clients have included top-tier management consulting firms, Fortune-ranked corporations, several of the leading enterprise software firms, a number of federal and state government agencies, and a nationally ranked university system.
