Business Wire, June 19, 2006
LOS ANGELES -- Earthworks Entertainment (OTCBB: EWKE.OB) announced today that it has made a deal with top-ranked kids home video company Empire International Merchandising Corporation wherein Empire will distribute the Z-Force cartoon series home video/DVD products in the Asian marketplace. This marks Earthworks' first commercial deal for its Z-Force entertainment-driven merchandise licensing property.
Earthworks Head of Global Licensing Cathy Malatesta, stated: "Z-Force is an irresistible world class property that is now poised to fill the void in the global market for action-adventure programming that captures kid viewer's hearts and imaginations. I've known Empire since my time at Warner Bros. and have worked with them on global success stories. Z-Force now joins the ranks of the mega-hit properties distributed by Empire including The Simpsons, Mission Impossible III, Transformers, the Movie and Ice Age 2."
"We are very excited to add Z-Force, a true powerhouse new children's property with massive sales potential, to our all-star library of home video properties." said Empire International Merchandising Corporation President and CEO Hubert Co.
The Z-Force childrens' entertainment property revolves around the fantastic adventures of normal teens who learn that they possess a secret alter-ego which transforms them into one of the 12 super-hero, costumed characters of the Chinese/Asian Zodiac, as in the Year of the Tiger, Year of the Dragon, Year of the Monkey, Year of the Horse and so on.
Every child viewer will want to become one of the heroes in the show as they actually possess the same primary animal characteristics through their own Year of Birth, and secondary animal characteristics through their Month of Birth. Never before has an entertainment property offered such uniquely imaginative and extremely personalized roll-playing models for children viewers.
