Active Reasoning Extends Platform Support to z/OS and z/Linux
Business Wire, June 20, 2006
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Active Reasoning, the leader in IT policy enforcement and controls validation, announced today that it has extended platform support to include z/OS and z/Linux. Already running on Windows 2000/2003, NT, Solaris, AIX, HP-UX and OS/400, Active Reasoning provides comprehensive operating system support to meet the needs of heterogeneous IT environments.
The decision to support the mainframe environment was driven by strong customer demand for Active Reasoning's software to run on z/Linux and for event-based DB2 collection on both z/OS and z/Linux. Chuck Price, Active Reasoning's Vice President of Engineering, commented, "Most of our customers have complex cross-platform requirements and the mainframe is an important part of their IT operations. We are delighted to support the needs of our customers by offering z/OS and z/Linux compatibility."
DB2 capabilities for both z/Linux and z/OS will include monitoring changes to the schema of a database and the value of content within the database as well as building a comprehensive inventory of database tables and content for IT control reporting and archiving. In addition z/Linux database monitoring will capture and analyze SQL Trace information for detection of activities such as privilege changes and restricted access.
Active Reasoning will offer both its software for z/Linux and DB2 database monitoring on z/Linux and z/OS as part of its 3.2.4 release in July, 2006.
