Business Wire, June 20, 2006
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- ZyXEL Communications today announced a partnership with NetNearU (NNU), a comprehensive point-of-access management solution provider, to provide NNU's wireless hotspot management system, TRACKOS(TM), together with ZyXEL's wireless hotspot gateway, the ZyAIR G-4100. The agreement will provide service providers with an all-in-one hotspot solution along with support for a management system that offers a single interface to manage multiple hotspot locations.
A leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, ZyXEL's hotspot gateway is a complete and flexible solution that operates in any hotspot environment. By integrating with TRACKOS(TM), ZyXEL's G-4100 now offers better control and enhanced reporting capabilities and improved management of all billing, authentication and roaming agreements. In addition, NNU offers 1-800 telephone support for both operators and end users 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. These service enhancements will result in an improved hotspot experience for both network operators and end users.
"The synergy between NNU and ZyXEL is hard to ignore," said Munira Brooks, ZyXEL senior vice president of sales, marketing and business development. "The combination of our products provides our customers with what they have been asking for, quality Internet access with total management control."
With nine years of experience in managing public Internet access, NNU has become a major player in the market and manages wireless networks in seventeen countries for over 100 different companies.
"We are pleased to partner with ZyXEL, a company that shares similar goals and a vision for anytime/anywhere Internet access with the best controls, security and management for network providers and end users," said Larry James, chairman and CEO of NetNearU Corp. "The coming together of TRACKOS(TM) with the G-4100 makes ZyXEL's proven hotspot gateway an even more attractive solution for current and future customers."
Targeted to network operators, ZyXEL's ZyAIR G-4100 wireless hotspot gateway allows end users such as ISPs, hotels and small stores to offer Wi-Fi service to their customers. It is ideal for businesses that want to deploy WLAN so that users do not need to change any settings on their computer. The gateway is easy to install and provides hotspot service with minimal maintenance cost and no administrative effort. Support for NNU's TRACKOS(TM) is integrated into the main firmware of the G-4100; the complete solution is available immediately.
