SKT Business Communication Solutions Selects Alloptic GEPON for Deployment in Kansas

Business Wire, June 20, 2006

LIVERMORE, Calif. -- Alloptic, Inc., a global leader in the design and development of Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (GEPONs), the most widely deployed next generation access network solution, announced that SKT Business Communication Solutions has selected Alloptic's GEPON solution for deployment at one of the Midwest's most exciting coming attractions, Wild West World theme park in Park City, KS. (www.wildwestworld.org)

"We chose Alloptic because their GEPON solution provided a cost-effective, fiber-based solution capable of carrying multiple services over a single, fiber optic infrastructure," said SKT BCS General Manager, Joel Keller. "Alloptic's TDM capability allowed us to address the need for traditional services while the Ethernet nature of the solution blends well with the other services we plan on offering over the network like ultra-high speed data, video, and security services. With Alloptic's environmentally hardened equipment, we have the flexibility to deliver services wherever they are required."

Alloptic is an industry leader in the development and deployment of IEEE Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network (GEPON) technology. Alloptic's access network solution has been deployed around the world and offers the only GEPON solution with five years of field hardened, operational history. The Alloptic solution leverages a standard ITU PON architecture while delivering a gigabit of bandwidth. With a native ability to support traditional TDM voice over an Ethernet-based platform, Alloptic is able to provide today's worry free telephone services while seamlessly supporting next generation services like IP HDTV.

"SKT Business Communication Solutions' deployment demonstrates the power and versatility of a GEPON solution," said Art Schultz, VP of Worldwide Sales for Alloptic. "With a gigabit of symmetrical bandwidth and environmentally hardened ONTs, the Alloptic solution is a very good fit for campus style deployments. Using our solution, SKT BCS is able to provide leading edge services with the cost efficiency of a PON network."
