Business Wire, June 20, 2006
ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- Tony Rodio, Regional President for the Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort and Resorts Atlantic City announced that Steve Callender has been named Senior Vice President of Operations for Resorts Atlantic City, pending CCC approval.
"It is with great pleasure that we welcome Steve Callender back to the Resorts family," said Rodio. "As one of the original Dealers who worked his way to Vice President at Resorts, Steve sets a great example for all employees.
"When an ownership change led to his departure from Resorts in 1997, he left to standing ovation. As he made his final exit from Resorts, casino employees and customers stopped and applauded in his honor. This speaks to the kind of person Steve is, and the respect he earned as a leader at Resorts," added Rodio.
As Senior Vice President of Operations, Mr. Callender will oversee the following departments for Resorts Atlantic City: Slot machine operations, Security, Hotel, Food & Beverage, Table Games, Credit, Casino Accounting, Surveillance, Internal Audit and Information Technology.
A graduate of Glassboro State College, Steve began his casino career as a day-one Dealer at Resorts. He advanced through the organization as a Supervisor, Manager, Director, and finally, became Vice President of Casino Operations in 1993. From there, he moved to the Atlantic City Hilton for two years and for the past seven years, he has served as the Vice President of Table Games at Bally's Atlantic City.
Steve resides in Galloway with his wife Kathy. The couple has three adult children.
