Plant Equipment, Inc. Deploys Firepond Configure-Price-Quote OnDemand for AppExchange; Firepond CPQ OnDemand Enables PlantCML to Accurately Configure Price and Quote Products On-Demand, in Less Than Half the Time
Business Wire, June 21, 2006
NEWTON, Mass. -- Firepond today announced that PlantCML's has deployed Firepond CPQ(TM) OnDemand integrating it as the product configuration, price, quote and proposal component in PlantCML's Salesforce on-demand CRM solution.
Headquartered in Temecula, California, PlantCML develops, manufactures, integrates and supports solutions for critical call-center environments. Plant selected Firepond because of its flexibility to provide complex configuration around Plant's own rules.
Ryan Borders, Sales Operations Manager for PlantCML, commented on the features that users of the integrated Salesforce and Firepond solution appreciate. Borders said, "Only certain combinations of PlantCML products work together and product availability is sometimes based on the type of user. Firepond OnDemand's powerful configuration resolves those complexities. In addition, PlantCML's primary resellers are major names in the telecommunications industry. It is imperative that our configuration and quoting solution be intuitive and flexible not only for our internal needs, but for our partners' users as well." Borders noted that with Firepond CPQ, he saves at least half the time on producing an accurate quote, and at least one additional headcount every year. Borders also cited Firepond OnDemand's ability to transfer data back to Salesforce as a key feature.
Bill Santo, CEO, said "Firepond is proud to add PlantCML to its growing list of Firepond OnDemand customers. Their complex configuration model is ideal for Firepond's solution. Also, with Firepond's seamless integration to Salesforce, customers like PlantCML can take advantage of a powerful true on-demand, multi-tenant solution for SFA and flexible configuration management."
"By using the AppExchange to add Firepond OnDemand to an existing Salesforce deployment, users now have the power to build a complete, streamlined, lead-to-order system," said Matt Holleran, vice president, AppExchange partners, salesforce.com. "Firepond's tight integration with Salesforce provides users with a seamless experience as they move between a Salesforce opportunity and Firepond product configurations, quotes and proposals."
