FP Technology Enhances the Lead-To-Order Process With Its Latest OnDemand Release of Firepond CPQ™ OnDemand; Automated Workflow for Deal Management and Approvals with Offline Capability, Greatly Improves a Company's Sales Process
Business Wire, June 21, 2006
NEWTON, Mass. -- FP Technology, Inc. (OTCBB:AFGU), doing business as Firepond, announced today it has released version 3.0 of its multi-tenant Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ(TM)) OnDemand solution for salesforce.com. The major new features of Version 3.0 include workflow capability and an Offline Edition.
The workflow capability is highly customizable and automates the approval process and management of deals for an organization's product configurations, quotes and proposals. Designated administrators can specify who needs to approve product configurations, quotes and proposals, and what tasks users can perform while items await approval. For example, a user of Firepond's CPQ OnDemand 3.0 workflow feature can email notifications to identified people at each step of the approval process notifying them of product configurations, pricing changes and discount modifications. In addition, the Workflow Console provides a comprehensive view of all workflow tasks allowing a user to quickly respond to tasks that require attention.
With the new Offline Edition, Firepond OnDemand users can now prepare product configurations and quotes without being connected to the Internet or logged into Salesforce. The Firepond OnDemand Offline Edition allows users to create these items in a disconnected mode, such as when visiting a customer site, and then upload them when a connection is possible.
FP Technology's CEO Bill Santo said, "One of the key advantages of our multi-tenant, OnDemand platform is that we can quickly and frequently enhance our application based on our customer's direct feedback. The addition of workflow and the Offline Edition are key features that contributed to Firepond's recent customer wins. Firepond CPQ OnDemand Version 3.0 further strengthens our leadership position among the multi-tenant, OnDemand product configuration, quote creation and proposal generation offerings."
Other version 3.0 highlights include a
--Customized Product Summary Tab - Users can control what data is displayed within the Product Summary Tab Module, making the product module customizable to specific needs.
--Product Comparison - Users have the ability to view a side-by-side comparison of product configurations. This useful feature permits users to prepare several product configurations for each customer and highlight the differences between each.
--Multiple Currency and Language Reports - Firepond CPQ OnDemand users now have the ability to use multiple currencies and languages within the Proposal Module, providing flexibility not otherwise available for the user in salesforce.com.
--Customizable Product Updates - Administrators now have the ability to modify how the product update changes are displayed to the users.
