Business Wire, June 22, 2006
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Mobility Electronics, Inc. (Nasdaq:MOBE), a leading provider of innovative portable power and computing solutions, announced today the launch of the Energizer(R) Energi To Go(TM) Audio and Gaming Power Packs, the first power products completed under the joint product development program between Mobility and Energizer. The Energizer Energi To Go Audio and Gaming Power Packs are battery-powered chargers that allow users of the Apple iPod(R), PSP(TM) (PlayStation(R) Portable), and Nintendo(R) DS(R) products to extend the battery life of their devices when a power outlet is not available for recharging.
Utilizing Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium(R) AA batteries, the Energizer Energi To Go Audio and Gaming Power Packs can provide hours of extra listening or game playing time for today's most popular devices. Each Energizer Energi To Go Power Pack contains a battery-powered charger and interchangeable power tips specifically designed for use on iPods, PSPs and Nintendo DS. The battery-powered chargers included in the Energizer Energi To Go Power Packs can also be utilized on most major mobile phones, PDAs, portable gaming devices, MP3 players and other gadgets through the use of separately sold interchangeable power tips that can be purchased on the iGo web store at www.iGo.com.
Energizer expects to begin selling the Energizer Energi To Go Audio and Gaming Power Packs through its retail distribution network in September 2006.
"The battery-powered charger we have developed with Energizer is a very unique portable power solution," said Charles Mollo, CEO of Mobility Electronics. "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with one of the leading consumer brands in the world on this product, and we believe their strong distribution network will help us capitalize on this sizeable growth opportunity. We believe this is an excellent start to our partnership with Energizer."
"The combination of Energizer(R) e2(R) Lithium(R), the world's longest-lasting AA battery in high-tech devices, and Mobility's versatile patented tip technology helps ensure that the enjoyment of an iPod, PSP or Nintendo DS is never cut short due to a drained battery," said Stacey Harbour, Brand Group Director for Energizer Battery, Inc. "We are very pleased to be at the forefront of a new power product category, and we believe the Energizer Energi To Go Power Packs will become a must-have accessory for the growing number of consumers that enjoy an iPod or portable gaming device."
