Configuresoft Promotes Mark Ruport to Chief Executive Officer; President & COO, Software/Services Veteran to Accelerate Company's Momentum and Expansion of Product Line, Domestic and International Distribution Channel and Strategic Alliances
Business Wire, June 22, 2006
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Consistent with its strategy to optimize success and drive growth, Configuresoft, an innovator in systems management technology and the creator of the enterprise continuous compliance management market, today announced that its President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Ruport will become the company's CEO beginning July 1st. Alexander Goldstein, CEO since founding Configuresoft in 1999, will continue his contributions as an active Board member.
Ruport, who joined Configuresoft last August, will focus on the next stage of the company's development. His top priorities will be to add products which increase Configuresoft's industry leading data source and analytical capability, create strategic alliances and integrations with other important security and systems management companies, and expand domestic and international distribution channels. Prior to Configuresoft, Ruport was executive vice president of worldwide operations for Stellent, Inc., president, CEO and chairman of Optika, Inc., which was acquired by Stellent in 2004, president and CEO of Interleaf, Inc. and senior vice president of Informix Software, Inc. He has extensive experience and a successful track record of steering companies through various stages of growth and expansion.
"Mark has already made a remarkable impact on Configuresoft's success through his strategic vision and operational execution, including the creation of alliances with Microsoft, Siemens and Deloitte & Touche," said Alex Goldstein. "As CEO, Mark and his management team will extend the value of Configuresoft solutions to assure the continuous compliance of customers' business critical applications. With 20 years of experience in computer software and services, Mark will continue to establish Configuresoft as a trusted partner in the daily operations of our customer community."
This move is part of Configuresoft's efforts to aggressively expand its role in enterprise systems management and security, and will add to the substantial momentum already in place. Last week, Configuresoft captured the "Best Systems Management & Operations" award at Tech-Ed 2006 for the second consecutive year. This followed its Best of Microsoft Management Summit 2006 honor from Windows IT Pro and SQL Server, and an eWeek magazine "Analyst's Choice" designation for the company's new Enterprise Configuration Manager (ECM) 4.8 product. Configuresoft recently launched ECM for Active Directory, extending ECM change detection and control into the Active Directory environment.
This is the newest addition to a family of modules that already includes ECM for Microsoft Exchange, offering capabilities vital to the centralized visibility of compliance across Microsoft Exchange servers; and ECM Management Extensions for Microsoft's Desired Configuration Monitoring, integrating regulatory and security compliance and validation for heterogeneous enterprises into a consolidated Microsoft Systems Center management framework.
Demonstrated by its strong bottom line, outstanding product achievements and a growing customer community, Configuresoft is defining the continuous compliance market within a fast-paced and competitive systems management and operations industry. "It's a very challenging time for major corporations around the world to ensure the security and compliance of their IT infrastructures while maintaining the highest level of support and service to their customers. Configuresoft is at the forefront of developing technology that addresses this complexity," said Mark Ruport. "It's exciting to be part of such a dynamic group of individuals working on essential technology that enhances the operations of so many significant companies around the world, such as UBS, Royal Bank of Scotland, Conoco Phillips, Qwest and British Telecom," he said.
About Enterprise Configuration Manager
By standardizing and monitoring server and client configurations by role, ECM ensures continuous operational compliance with regulatory, industry and corporate standards throughout a computing infrastructure. Sustained by a proven and scalable architecture, ECM collects tens of thousands of detailed asset, security and configuration settings from each Windows, UNIX and Linux server and workstation--storing that information in a centralized configuration management database (CMDB) for immediate access, analysis and reporting. ECM can enforce security policies by automatically resetting configurations to their desired state when an unauthorized change (or deviation) occurs. These capabilities help IT organizations keep their mission critical systems properly configured, while ensuring security compliance with regulatory requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, GLBA, PCI DSS and FISMA.
