Silverback Systems and NetApp Team to Deliver iSCSI Acceleration to SMB Market; Silverback's iSNAP 2110 Host Bus Adapters Available as Accessories With New StoreVault S500 Network Storage System From the StoreVault Division of Network Appliance
Business Wire, June 26, 2006
CAMPBELL, Calif. -- Silverback Systems, Inc., the leader in advanced Ethernet-acceleration technologies, today announced it is teaming with the StoreVault division of Network Appliance, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP) to offer Silverback's iSNAP(R) 2110 dual-port iSCSI host bust adapter (HBA) as an option for the new StoreVault(TM) S500 network storage system for the small and medium business (SMB) market. When used in a host computer connected to the StoreVault S500, which NetApp introduced today (www.netapp.com/news), the iSNAP 2110 HBA offloads several tasks that a host connected to the StoreVault S500 would otherwise need to manage, including iSCSI and TCP/IP protocols, enabling SMB customers to take advantage of unprecedented network storage acceleration provided by the patented iSNAP technology.
