Viewpoint Wins International Stevie Award for Lexus Interactive Demo; Viewpoint Honored with 2006 International Business Award for Hybrid Technology Demo
Business Wire, June 26, 2006
NEW YORK -- Viewpoint Corporation (NASDAQ: VWPT), a leading internet marketing technology company, today announced that it has been awarded a 2006 International Stevie Best Interactive Multimedia Award for its work on the Lexus Hybrid Technology Demo. This award-winning Demo is powered by Viewpoint 3D visualization technology and can be viewed live on the Lexus website at: http://lexus.com/models/hybrid/how_they_work.html, click Launch demo at bottom right.
Using its advanced visualization technology, Viewpoint created the Lexus Hybrid Demo in order to showcase how the innovative car maker's hybrid technology enables both superior performance and fuel efficiency. The demonstration features an overview of the inner workings of the vehicle's technology at start-up, acceleration, cruising speeds, braking and reversing.
Viewpoint produced an interactive, animated 3D model of a Lexus Hybrid to illustrate how all of the components of the hybrid system work in harmony to get optimal performance in every driving situation. The demonstration shows each of the key Hybrid components including the V6 engine, battery, power control unit, drive motors and planetary gear fly into the scene as a voice-over narrator explains the function of each.
"Quality and performance are always top of mind for our customers, and as a result we wanted our customers to understand the significant benefits of Lexus' hybrid technology," said Deborah Meyer, Vice President of Marketing at Lexus. "The Hybrid Technology Demo developed by Viewpoint and powered by the company's unique technology allows our visitors to actually see the hybrid components, providing context and a thorough understanding of how the technology can achieve astonishing performance and fuel efficiency. All this, while maintaining the refinements of what premium luxury customers expect from Lexus. This is an excellent way for us to show that hybrid technology is yet another extension of the Lexus brand."
"Market leaders like Lexus recognize the importance of interactive media as a key element of any effective online marketing strategy, and the critical role that technology plays in developing and executing that strategy," said Patrick Vogt, Viewpoint's CEO. "The Lexus Hybrid Demo is an example of the importance of understanding technology in order to leverage creative assets effectively to drive brand engagement on the Web."
The International Business Awards are a global, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace. Nicknamed Stevie for the Greek word "crowned," the awards will be presented to winners at a gala dinner on Monday, June 26 in the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The ceremonies will be videocast live worldwide by HB Group, and will be broadcast live on radio in the United States by the Business TalkRadio Network.
