Organizations that currently use nightly or weekly backup policies have exposed themselves to unnecessary risk of data loss. DigiVault was developed to address this data loss window by providing organizations that use Exchange with a cost-effective system to provide Continuous Data Protection (CDP) of their critical e-mail data. Lucid8's DigiVault tracks changes to the Exchange database and stores these incremental changes as they are committed to the database. This ensures that the organization's e-mail is continually protected and as well substantially reduces potential data loss and downtime. Working in tandem with DigiVault, Lucid8's GOexchange delivers disaster prevention and database optimization. This suite of products provides the only automated disaster prevention, optimization, protection and rapid recovery solution for Microsoft Exchange, ensuring optimal uptime of Exchange Servers as well as the integrity of e-mail data.
"Together, DigiVault and GOexchange provide enterprises with a mission-critical Microsoft Exchange disaster prevention, optimization and recovery system," said Chris Williams, analyst with Ferris Research. "The ability to automate Exchange server maintenance and continuously protect Exchange server data as it changes allows corporations to minimize unplanned network downtime, data loss and the associated costs."
Lucid8's GOexchange works to remove hidden, silently accumulating database errors; increases disk space; and rebuilds indexes, all contributing factors to a healthy and optimized Exchange database. GOexchange reduces Microsoft Exchange storage requirements by 30 to 55 percent, and, when combined with DigiVault and a third-party archiving solution, reduction in storage requirements can reach over 90 percent. DigiVault provides minute-to-minute protection of the e-mail database to deliver unprecedented levels of security from Exchange data loss and corruption.
DigiVault is the first module developed within the new Lucid8 Enterprise System Protector(TM) and a key component of Lucid8's next generation of online disaster prevention and Exchange optimization, analysis and high availability protection platform. ESP is designed to protect the data of critical application platforms in one integrated package. Additional ESP modules for SQL Server, Active Directory, Sharepoint, IIS and other third-party platforms such as Oracle's database systems and IBM's Lotus Notes are currently under development.
New Key Features include:
--Advanced clustering support.
--Additional redundancy for repository storage service to avoid failures such as running out of disk space.
--User supplied Encryption keys for increased security.
--Multithreading for simultaneous, faster backups.
--Enhanced management capabilities.
--Licensing support for increased technical support, sales and clustering APIs.
"Lucid8 continually upgrades its products to keep up with technology demands and provides pricing adjustments to assist customers in finding the right solution," said Troy Werelius, founder and CEO of Lucid8. "We want our customers to realize the potential flaws in their existing data protection policies and provide a low-cost solution that provides them comprehensive insurance should disaster strike -- the combination of DigiVault and GOexchange is that insurance."
Availability and Pricing
DigiVault licensing is provided on a per-server basis, with product pricing based upon the number of mailboxes, starting at $695 for 25 mailboxes. Special pricing for passive nodes within a cluster is available.
