Neogent, Inc. Announces Bi Level RBAC Designed to Enable Customer's Role Based Access Control Requirements based on Sun Microsystems's Identity Management Deployments
Business Wire, June 28, 2006
AUSTIN, Texas -- Neogent, Inc., a global leader in Identity and Access Management solutions, announced a new product within their Velocity Implementation Package suite, known as Bi Level RBAC (Role Based Access Control). Bi Level RBAC allows organizations to define, maintain and audit roles in relation to both the business and functional roles in an organization. Without addressing the bifurcated nature of RBAC, enterprises inevitably experience "role explosion," which is why Neogent's solution is timely and relevant to the challenges facing medium and large scale organizations today.
Neogent is a leading partner to Sun Microsystems in Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, having performed numerous successful implementations of Sun's Java System Identity Manager software to enterprises and institutions worldwide. Neogent is also one of Sun's leading technology and sales training partners, having delivered Neogent's SWAT Training (Intensive IAM Delivery Training) across the United States as well as throughout Japan, France, Australia, Norway and India.
Neogent is most widely known for VIP, the Velocity Implementation Package, which includes accelerator application tools such as Velocity Identity Package, Velocity Identity Installer, Velocity Enterprise Package, and now, Bi Level RBAC. All of these tools are specifically designed to support the deployments of Sun's Java System Identity Manager product as well as other products within Sun Identity Portfolio.
"Offering Bi Level RBAC within our Velocity Implementation Package really completes our suite of products. Customers are experiencing tremendous ROI due to VIP (Identity Package), they benefit from the IAM and ECM merged into VEP (Enterprise Package), and now we're able to help prevent the enormous problem of 'role explosion' facing most enterprise companies today," said Bruce Douglas, President and CEO of Neogent, Inc.
"What we've done that's different from other RBAC (role based access control) vendors is pooled Neogent's expertise and proven best practices related to enterprise level provisioning, auditing and enforcement of access controls together into a comprehensive RBAC solution. Bi Level RBAC focuses on the notion and relationship of business roles to functional roles to allow a company to centrally manage coarse grained access control while delegating fine grained access control in a compliant manner. Bi Level RBAC provides a packaged experience and expertise which makes a maintainable enterprise level RBAC deployment possible," said Dan Greff, Neogent's Director of Product Development.
