Composite Software Adds SOA Data Services for Oracle, Salesforce.com to Popular Line; Pre-Built Data Services Enable IT Teams to Accelerate Implementation of SOAs
Business Wire, June 5, 2006
SAN MATEO, Calif. -- Following the success of its pre-built data services for SAP and Siebel, Composite Software recently released its newest Composite Application Views(TM) for Oracle and Salesforce.com. Customers can now bring forward Oracle E-Business Suite, Salesforce.com and other existing systems into a service-oriented environment using these reusable services, thereby accelerating dashboard, single-view, ad-hoc reporting, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) projects. The leading provider of on-demand data services technology, Composite Software is the only Enterprise Information Integration (EII) company to provide pre-built data services of the world's most commonly used packaged applications: SAP, Siebel, and now Oracle and Salesforce.com.
Composite Application Views consist of hundreds of pre-built data services for key business information regarding customers, products, orders, employees and more. Working with the award-winning Composite Information Server(TM) (CIS), Application Views present business data in legacy applications in the form of Web services. Alternatively, the business data is presented as traditional relational tables that may be queried, filtered and combined with other sources from across the organization. Composite Application Views leverage the security rules and business logic of each source application, preserving data and process integrity. Pre-built data services help jump start projects and reduce the risk of inadvertently changing or corrupting the complex data found in popular packaged applications.
"Composite Information Server has provided us tremendous capabilities for accessing and integrating data across our organization," said Liz Baker, application development at Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc., an electric power supplier serving Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico. "CIS with Composite Application Views for Oracle E-Business Suite will help us accelerate the building of our data services architecture and business intelligence competency."
Retrieving on-demand data from complex, proprietary packaged applications, and combining this data with other systems, is normally costly and time-consuming. Unlike low-level adapters, Composite Application Views enable developers and business analysts easily to navigate and browse applications using common business terms and standards-based, SOA protocols such as SOAP, as well as traditional SQL. As a result, knowledge of specific underlying interfaces and data structures is no longer required.
Examples of typical projects that benefit from Composite Application Views include call center applications requiring data from Siebel and Salesforce.com, inventory visibility systems requiring data from SAP and Oracle E-Business Suite, and pharmaceutical drug discovery R&D requiring data from SAP and "home-grown" scientific data sources.
Composite Application Views, which require a Composite Information Server (CIS), are available immediately. Data services for Oracle and Salesforce.com are each sold separately. Pricing is based on required processing power and size of deployment. For more information, visit http://www.compositesw.com/products/cav.shtml.
