KTF Launches Interoperable MMS; Aicent MMS Gateway Enhances Messaging Experience for Korean Mobile Subscribers
Business Wire, June 5, 2006
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Aicent Inc., a leading provider of mobile data network services and solutions for global mobile operators, today announced that Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF), Korea's second largest mobile operator, has launched interoperable Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) for its 12 million mobile subscribers. The service, named KTF 00345 MMS, combines KTF's strong market position with Aicent's global MMS interworking network. KTF is immediately interoperable with 100 leading mobile operators connected to the Aicent MMS Gateway, eliminating the need for KTF to build one-to-one connections with each global operator.
Powered by Aicent MMS Gateway, KTF 00345 MMS now offers subscribers a dynamic and personalized messaging experience across national and international networks. KTF customers who select the new KTF 00345 MMS service will seamlessly connect with family and friends around the world via a broad range of mobile messaging capabilities, including photo, audio and video messages.
"KTF brings to our customers a unique blend of innovative mobile services, strong brand awareness and solid partnerships with service providers," said Mr. Ki Bong Kim, Director, International Business Team at KTF. "We are pleased to partner with Aicent, a top mobile data network provider, which is committed to providing our customers the highest standards in mobile services. Our multimedia services such as personalized entertainment and information delivered via MMS continue to be extremely popular."
MMS interoperability and seamless message delivery is now a growing reality due in part to improved industry standards and comprehensive MMS gateways such as the Aicent MMS Gateway.
"Aicent is excited to partner with KTF to offer its customers the best in mobile data communications," said Lynn Liu, President and CEO of Aicent. "Korea has long been a hotbed of mobile technology innovation. We're pleased to play a role and help Korean mobile operators, such as KTF, achieve business success and drive ARPU."
