Unify Advances Migration of Lotus Notes Applications to J2EE With Recent Customer Wins

Business Wire, June 6, 2006

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Five months after unveiling Unify NXJ Composer, a Lotus Notes to J2EE migration solution, Unify Corp. (OTCBB:UNFY) today reported continued adoption of the software by end users and solution integrators with the signing of recent deals by new customers. Academicedge, Davalen, Dominion, Infocation and the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance have selected Unify NXJ Composer to migrate key Lotus Notes applications to the J2EE environment.

Various business drivers such as corporate mandates or database size and performance contribute to an organization's decision to bring a Lotus Notes groupware application into the open, standards-based Java environment. Unify NXJ Composer enables organizations to transition these Lotus Notes applications to J2EE quickly and, equally as important, use the Lotus Notes development team to complete the migration.

Infocation, specializing in corporate IT software solutions and IT contracting services based on IBM/Lotus and other technologies, recently selected NXJ Composer to deliver increased service levels to their customers.

"By extending our Lotus Notes expertise to J2EE and relational database platforms, we can deliver even greater value to our customers," said Simon Jones, CEO of Infocation. "Unify NXJ Composer empowers our Lotus Notes developers to both keep their skill set current, and to maintain their productivity while delivering complex applications on new platforms. From a business perspective, implementing NXJ Composer is as close to a no-brainer as I've seen."

Unify NXJ Composer enables a Lotus Notes developer to leverage their business expertise and build new Lotus Notes-like applications in the J2EE environment with virtually no hand coding. Using a visual design paradigm and single-click auto deployment functionality modeled after the Lotus Notes environment, Unify NXJ Composer provides a familiar paradigm so developers remain productive and effective in transitioning from Notes to the Java environment.

Unify NXJ Composer quickly converts the Lotus Notes database, forms, formula language and LotusScript to a J2EE-based, relational database application that integrates with the enterprise architecture and leverages existing IBM hardware and software investments.

"We are excited to see growing momentum with Unify NXJ Composer and market acceptance across IBM Lotus Notes organizations," said Todd Wille, CEO of Unify. "We designed NXJ Composer to enable an organization to create the perfect blend of a technology and business solution for the Lotus Notes user community. IT benefits from a safe J2EE alternative that quickly addresses popular Lotus Notes applications with scalability, data access and proprietary platform concerns. All the while the business continues to benefit from the expected high level of productivity and domain expertise of the Lotus Notes developer."
