ATX Executive Honored by Villanova University

Business Wire, June 8, 2006

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. -- ATX Communications, a leading provider of integrated communications and managed network services, announced that Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tim Allen was recently honored by the Alpha Rho chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, Villanova University's chapter of the National Communication Association honor society for communication studies. Allen received the Ethos Award for 2006 and delivered the keynote address at the society's thirteenth annual induction and dinner ceremony in April.

Allen, a 1985 Villanova graduate, began his career at ATX just three years out of college as a Telecommunications Consultant, and he has risen through ATX's sales ranks to become one of the Company's four senior executives. Over nearly two decades, his drive and leadership have helped ATX grow to an enterprise with more than $160 million in annual revenues and industry-leading metrics in customer service and satisfaction. Appointed Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing in April 2005, Allen leads the Company's commercial sales force across the Mid-Atlantic region and influences marketing, product management, and strategic development.

"The society's name of Lambda Pi Eta represents logic (logos), emotion (pathos), and ethics (ethos) - each of which has played a role in Tim Allen's success," said Dr. Emory H. Woodard, IV, assistant professor and Lambda Pi Eta faculty advisor. "His logic skills make him an assertive, analytical sales executive, and he is known for bringing emotion - a positive attitude and contagious enthusiasm - to every initiative. Above all, Tim's strengths, abilities and ambitions are guided by his fundamental integrity. These well-rounded characteristics make Tim Allen a worthy role model for tomorrow's business leaders."

"It's truly an honor to be recognized by my alma mater, and to have the opportunity to engage younger generations of bright Villanovans who are discovering a lot about their professional potential and aspirations," said Allen. "My studies at Villanova solidly prepared me for a challenging and rewarding career with ATX. I'm proud of my affiliation with these two Philadelphia institutions known for quality and excellence."
