Business Wire, March 1, 2006
TARRYTOWN, NY -- Programs Highlight Technology versus Specific Vendor Focus, Bringing Knowledge, Tools and Resources to Bear and Helping Resellers Accelerate Competitiveness
Westcon Group, Inc. announced that all three of its divisions in North America are now rolling out technology-driven, customer oriented solutions programs to their respective reseller bases. The programs, which are built around the specialty distributor's core competencies in convergence and security, are being offered through the Comstor, Voda One and Westcon divisions to resellers throughout the United States and Canada. Information about each program is available to Westcon Group resellers through these dedicated web portals:

The North American solutions program rollout follows the Company's successful divisional rollout overseas, where Westcon Europe launched VoicePoint and Comstor Europe launched the OneX program suite late last year. Through these branded solutions programs, resellers gain access to Westcon Group's unrivalled portfolio of advanced technology solutions in convergence and security, combined with revolutionary sales tools that help position resellers to position and grow their businesses.
The core objective of the OneX and ConvergencePoint program suites is to help resellers accelerate and extend their success in advanced technology markets. In the next three weeks, U.S. divisional announcements will define the architecture of each program, while outlining key resources deliverables. So far, Westcon Group has had unwavering support from both its Foundation and Affinity vendor communities, since the programs foster channel sales and enable business solutions to be built in a context never before possible.
Duncan Potter, vice president, worldwide marketing, Westcon Group, commented: "Our new solutions programs provide a vision, a roadmap and an environment for resellers to enter or extend their presence in advanced technology markets. These program suites represent a very powerful mechanism that can quickly and positively impact a reseller's chances of success."
Ken Creager, senior director of channel marketing and vertical market development at Meru Networks, added: "The competency, intelligence and effort behind Westcon Group's solution programs are immense and represent a significant step forward in how value added distribution delivers to the channel. As one of Westcon Group's affinity partners, these programs represent a fantastic opportunity for us to increase our channel presence."
Dan Hatoum, owner of Trifecta Communications LLC, a Fla-based Westcon/Comstor reseller, commented: "Westcon Group has covered all the bases for us with Convergence Point and OneX, with an incredible array of resources that include knowledge access tools, lead generation, presentation resources and product selling guides. Most important of all, they have assembled the most focused portfolio in the business targeted towards security and convergence opportunities."
