SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Genesis(R) Microchip Inc. (Nasdaq:GNSS), a world leader in the development of image processing technologies for flat-panel TVs, monitors, and other consumer display products, today announced that MiTAC Technology Corporation, a leading designer and developer of innovative flat-panel displays, has designed Genesis Microchip's FLI8532 (Cortez) video controller into its new premium LCD TV platforms that are being manufactured for some of the world's leading consumer electronics companies.
"We selected Genesis Microchip as our video controller supplier because its award-winning Faroudja technologies provide the highest level of image quality that our OEM TV customers require," said James Hwang, president of MiTAC Technology Corporation. "In addition to its technology, Genesis provided the on-site technical support to help us move these OEM platforms into production quickly and cost-effectively."
"When designing TV platforms, MiTAC utilizes industry-leading technology because of the importance its OEM customers place on image quality," said Raphael Mehrbians, Genesis Microchip's senior vice president of Product Marketing.
