City National Bank Expands RSS Feeds and Podcast Content with Addition of New 'International Business Outlook'; The Outlook Also Is Available as a PDF and Streaming Audio Through cnb.com
Business Wire, March 21, 2006
LOS ANGELES -- City National Bank, California's Premier Private and Business Bank(R), has added the "International Business Outlook" to its list of RSS feeds and podcasts available to clients and others who visit its Website at www.cnb.com.
The monthly outlook, which will be authored by City National's Foreign Exchange Manager Peter Ro, also is available as a downloadable PDF and via streaming audio. The "International Business Outlook" will provide importers, exporters and others who do business or invest abroad with an analysis of current economic conditions and suggestions on how they can use that information to improve their business and personal finances.
"We're seeing a growing number of clients who are looking for as much information as they can get about doing business or investing internationally," Ro said. "Our International Banking colleagues have tremendous insight about foreign currency, international markets and trade financing, and delivering this information to our clients and others via RSS and podcasting demonstrates our commitment to providing value-added content online."
Last month the bank announced that all company-issued news releases, as well as daily foreign exchange commentary and weekly "Market Perspectives" from City National's Chief Investment Officer Richard A. Weiss, are available in RSS. "Market Perspectives," which highlights economic trends and market activity each week, also is available with a free podcast subscription.
RSS allows users to subscribe to content from any Website that offers an RSS feed. Using a news reader, or "aggregator," subscribers can view the content on their desktops and have it updated automatically each time the feed is revised. Podcasting enables subscribers to automatically receive audio files over the Internet and listen to those files on their computers or to load them onto portable devices, such as MP3 players.
City National is one of the first financial institutions in the nation to utilize RSS feeds and podcasts as alternative solutions for clients. The bank plans to expand its offerings with additional content -- including economic forecasts, executive speeches and other timely information -- throughout the year.
