Paychex Ranked 21st Among Training Magazine's Top 100; Leading Payroll and HR Services Company Recognized for Fifth Straight Year; Sales Training Program Receives Special Recognition
Business Wire, March 23, 2006
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Paychex, Inc. ranked number 21 on Training magazine's 2006 Top 100 list of training organizations. This is the fifth consecutive year that Paychex has been honored by Training, a premier training industry publication. Paychex, a leading national provider of payroll and human resource services, was ranked number 20 last year. To compile this year's list, Training magazine examined more entries than any previous year during a multi-tiered nomination, application, and interview process.
"Our training organization does a terrific job every day, providing Paychex employees with the skills and knowledge they need to deliver the very best customer service to our clients," said Paychex president and chief executive officer Jonathan J. Judge. "To be ranked among the finest training organizations in the nation for five straight years is a great tribute to the dedication and leadership of each training professional."
Training also identified Paychex's payroll sales training program as one of 10 Outstanding Training Initiatives. Through this training program, new representatives learn Paychex's products and selling strategies in a structured, tiered program that incorporates self-study, online learning, job shadowing, instructor-led training, and manager/mentor assistance.
The University of Paychex, the company's training and development center, provided more than one million hours of training for Paychex employees during fiscal 2005, with an average of 124 hours of training per Paychex employee. Additionally, 23 of Paychex's training programs are certified for college credit by the American Council on Education (ACE). The credit hours earned through these programs are eligible for transfer to any of over 3,000 ACE member colleges and universities. The University of Paychex is located at the company's corporate headquarters in Rochester, New York.
"Paychex has a long history of hiring for attitude, then providing exceptional training that gives new employees the skills to succeed," said Will Kuchta, Paychex vice president of organizational development. "This strategy works because the talented team at the University of Paychex works closely with managers throughout the company to understand what's needed to meet the ever-changing demands of our business."
The Training Top 100 is a ranking of organizations that excel at human capital development, as determined each year by Training magazine.
