Ardence ReadyOn Passes the Two-Million-Units-Sold Mark; Sales of innovative Windows instant-on software product double in less than a year
Business Wire, March 28, 2006
WALTHAM, Mass. -- Ardence, the leader in designing on-demand software platforms, today announced that it surpassed two million units sold for ReadyOn, its market-leading instant-on software solution for Windows devices - doubling sales for the first-of-its-kind embedded software product in less than a year.
ReadyOn provides device manufacturers with a virus-proof, corruption-proof solution and secure, instant-on capabilities for Windows-based devices. It is used by a variety of OEMs in devices that range from MediaPCs to retail point of sale.
"We live in an on-demand world and we expect the devices we buy to deliver on-demand functionality," said Stephen Woodard, Ardence Senior Vice President, Global Operations. "OEMs are constantly innovating, creating devices to simplify our lives, to entertain us, and to make us more productive on the job. Buyers expect those devices to be not only easy to use, but also instantly available. ReadyOn provides that instant-on capability, ease-of-use and dependability. Clearly, the marketplace recognizes its value."
Ardence announced in July of 2005 that it had sold a million units of ReadyOn. "We sensed that adoption would be strong, but we're exceeding our own expectations," said Woodard.
Ardence's ReadyOn 1.3 has a proven, unique architecture that provides benefits that no other product can deliver.
ReadyOn provides 100% recovery from viruses and corruption. Furthermore, the device manufacturer (or end user in some cases) can fully pre-configure the start-up process, and then reliably reach the desired state of operation within seconds of "power on." ReadyOn's support for ghosting makes it a perfect solution for rapid manufacturing environments. Once a ReadyOn image configuration has been defined, it can be quickly copied to target systems.
ReadyOn V1.3 is available by contacting Ardence at 781/647-3000. ReadyOn is only available in CD-ROM format and supports Windows XP Pro, 2000, and XPe SP1 and SP2.
