Revivio Continues to Raise the Bar on Data Protection and Application Availability at Storage Networking World, Spring 2006; Will Showcase Revivio Application Integration Suite and Present SNIA Tutorial

Business Wire, March 29, 2006

LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Revivio(R), Inc., a leading provider of data protection and application availability solutions, today announced that it will showcase its recently announced Application Integration Suite (AIS), at Storage Networking World (SNW), Spring 2006, being held April 3 - 6, 2006 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego, CA. In addition, Revivio founder and chief technology officer, Michael Rowan, will deliver a Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) tutorial entitled, "Disk-Based Restoration Technologies" on Tuesday, April 4th from 3:05 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.

The Revivio demonstration, in booth C-27, will feature its Application Integration Suite (AIS), powerful new software that helps customers automate data protection and recovery processes - from nightly backups to full disaster response. Attendees will have the opportunity to see first-hand how Revivio's AIS software provides application-specific automated recovery through tight integration with the Revivio Continuous Protection System (CPS). The Revivio CPS, the industry's leading enterprise-class continuous data protection (CDP) solution, allows companies to eliminate the time window required for backups, instantly restore data to any event or point in time, and to recover business applications in just minutes.

"Since its introduction three years ago, Revivio's CPS has supported instant recovery of individual objects, such as files and email - and has offered instant access to finely granular recovery points based on operational, environmental and application-specific events," said Kirby Wadsworth, senior vice president of marketing and business development for Revivio. "We look forward to this opportunity to publicly showcase, for the first time anywhere, our new AIS software and its ability to leverage the CPS to ensure dynamic data availability."

"In order to stay competitive in this 24x7 world, it has become imperative for enterprise computing environments to create and maintain a disaster recovery plan to protect information and applications. However, for many customers the recovery process has been a slow, manual process," said Dianne McAdam, a senior analyst with The Clipper Group. "The Revivio AIS, through its tight integration with the Revivio CPS appliance, will provide customers with the ability to automate all aspects of recovery, from simply restoring emails and files, to testing complex remote disaster recovery capabilities."

Michael Rowan's SNIA tutorial entitled, "Disk-Based Restoration Technologies" taking place on Tuesday, April 4th from 3:05 p.m. - 3:50 p.m., will discuss how many disk technologies, both old and new, are now being used to augment the backup paradigm to deliver better information and application restoration performance. Rowan will highlight today's prevailing technologies, including snapshots, full-copy snapshots (mirror-splits), differential snapshots, and small aperture snapshots (SAS), as well as continuous data protection (CDP) solutions in their various forms. Detailed explanation will be provided in regards to how these technologies operate, as well as best practices recommendations for deployment in today's highly heterogeneous data centers.
