American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter Reminds Residents to Change Clocks, Smoke Alarm Batteries

CLEVELAND -- The American Red Cross, Greater Cleveland Chapter reminds residents of the Greater Cleveland area to change their clocks one hour forward and to replace smoke alarm batteries on Sunday, April 2, 2006.

Fire is the number one disaster that affects residents in the community. Properly working smoke alarms are the most effective way to prevent deaths caused by fire.

The Greater Cleveland Chapter's Operation Save-A-Life program offers free smoke alarms and batteries to residents who qualify as low-income, disabled or elderly. Eligible residents in Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, East Cleveland, Euclid, Newbury and South Euclid are encouraged to call their city's contact number for further information:
