ASTAR Air Cargo Announces Departure of Chief Administrative Officer; Seasoned Airline Executive Ray Lutz to Retire
Business Wire, March 3, 2006
MIAMI -- ASTAR Air Cargo today announced the retirement of Raymond Lutz from his position as Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer and member of the airline's executive management team. Retiring with almost a quarter century of airline and cargo experience, his departure will be effective immediately.
During his three years at ASTAR, Lutz was responsible for information technology, business development, facilities and communications, overseeing human resources, as well as managing charter operations and the airline's important relationship with the Air Mobility Command of the United States Air Force.
"Ray has been an important participant in shaping ASTAR and I thank him for his dedication and effort," said John Dasburg, ASTAR's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Ray's a versatile executive who has had his hands in all aspects of the business. The employees of ASTAR will miss his many contributions."
ASTAR has determined to not recruit another senior executive to succeed Lutz, but will instead restructure and assign additional responsibilities to current executives. Doug McKeen, Senior Vice President -- Employee Relations, will manage internal and external communications. Woody Brown, Director of Information Technology, will now report directly to Dasburg. Veronica McQuaige, Facilities Manager, will now report to Gary Hammes, Chief Operating Officer. The business development function will be managed by Steve Rossum, the airline's Chief Financial Officer. Major General Ted Mallory, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, will serve as the relationship manager for the Air Mobility Command and assume responsibility for charter operations.
