Business Wire, March 7, 2006
DAYTON, Ohio -- LexisNexis U.S., a leading provider of information and services solutions, today announced the launch of the New Nexis(R) service--new look, new features and new functionality--at www.nexis.com.
Now the unmatched content that LexisNexis is famous for--more than 32,000 authoritative sources--is brought to the surface to make it easier than ever to uncover new insights. Both experienced searchers and business users can now search to get a complete view on an issue across six major categories simultaneously: News, Company, Industry, People, Countries and Legal. It's only through LexisNexis that you can access this type of information--in one search--for a big picture view.

"Our goal was to create the best search experience possible so that an experienced researcher or a novice user could more quickly and easily find the answers they need to make informed business decisions," said Elizabeth Rector, senior vice president of Corporate and Federal Markets for LexisNexis. "For example, the advanced features are designed to help professional researchers, and the simple search tools will help all levels of users. It's the optimal connection between power and ease."
After users run a search, they will be able to view results in categories so they can further refine their answer set by source categories (i.e. Industry Directories and Profiles, Patents, Scientific Materials, Press Releases, or News Transcripts), Publication Name, Subject, Industry, Company, Geography, and Language. If they choose, they can also refine the answer set even further or launch new queries by clicking on relevant concepts. This interactive results clustering and navigation is made possible by the proprietary LexisNexis SmartIndexing Technology(TM).
Incorporating customer-driven enhancements and technological advancements, the Nexis service includes:
--Robust Content is Surfaced--six simple check boxes allow users to simultaneously search across different content showing the big picture view.
--Natural language or Boolean connector search logic--anyone can easily search the service regardless of their level of expertise.
--Interactive Results in Groups--Automatically sort results by industries, subjects, companies, places, languages and publications so users can quickly analyze their answer sets.
--Link to Similar Documents via LexisNexis SmartIndexing Technology(TM)--users can find connections between documents that they may not have otherwise discovered.
--Spell Checker--Nexis prompts users with a "Did you mean..." message for misspelled words.
