XenSource Names Frank Artale as Vice President of Business Development and John Bara as Vice President of Marketing; Veteran Enterprise Software Team Now In-Place to Substantially Grow Business

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- XenSource, Inc., the leader in infrastructure virtualization solutions based on the open source Xen hypervisor, today announced that Frank Artale and John Bara have joined the company as vice president business development and vice president of marketing, respectively. With proven experience helping to grow emerging software companies, Artale joins the company with more than twenty years experience in engineering and executive management and will be responsible for OEM and business partnerships, as well as product management. A veteran marketing executive, Bara will be responsible for all aspects of marketing at XenSource and brings extensive experience in the development and execution of programs for worldwide field, customer and partner marketing.

Artale was most recently a member of the venture development team at Accel Partners where he worked as an advisor to such companies as Mendocino Software and Centrify Software. In this role, he had also been working with XenSource on overall business strategy for the past several months. Prior to Accel, Artale was a founder and CEO of Consera Software, a management software company, which was acquired by HP in 2004. Before founding Consera, Artale was vice president of the Windows Solutions Group for VERITAS Software, where he oversaw overall product strategy of the Windows targeted solutions. Prior to this position, he was the general manager in the Windows 2000 group at Microsoft Corporation, one of the many and varied product management and sales positions he held during his nine-year career with the company.

Prior to joining XenSource, Bara served as senior vice president of marketing at Interwoven where he was responsible for creating and overseeing all marketing programs. Before joining Interwoven in 2001, he was vice president of marketing at Genesys Telecommunications Labs, Inc. Previous to this position, Bara spent five years at Intel, where he was a management team member for the Pentium group, financial controller for the microprocessor group, and also was responsible for large OEM customers. Bara began his career in financial services serving as an executive with the Bank of Boston and Citibank Tokyo and received an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a BA from Oberlin College.
