Kalido Achieves Gold Award in Bloor Research's Independent Evaluation of Packaged Data Warehouses; Enterprise Data Warehouse and Master Data Management Provider Recognized for Ability to Handle Business Change Better Than Any Other Vendor
Business Wire, March 8, 2006
BURLINGTON, Mass. & LONDON -- Kalido, the leading provider of enterprise data warehousing and master data management software, today announced that it earned the highest score of all vendors analyzed in the recent "Packaged Data Warehouses" report by Bloor Research, a leading provider of information technology (IT) research, advisory services, and strategic consulting. Kalido's technology also earned a Gold Award in the report. The evaluation recognized Kalido for providing a "radically different" application with the ability to manage change better than any of the other vendor offerings. The KALIDO(R) application suite (KALIDO) for enterprise data warehousing and master data management was the highest-rated product in Bloor's report ahead of packaged data warehouse technology from Decision Point, IBM, SAP, SAS, SPSS Showcase and Teradata.
"As far as KALIDO is concerned, it is unfair to simply describe it as a data warehousing application. Yes, it does that, but to label it in this way is to underestimate its capabilities. It provides a level of flexibility that does not otherwise exist within the data warehousing space - if change is an issue for you (and when isn't it?) then you should be talking to Kalido - no other product comes close in its capabilities," wrote Philip Howard of Bloor Research in the report.
Kalido was consistently positioned in the "Champion" segment of the Landscape Bullseye(TM) comparative analysis. It received particularly high scores for architecture and "fit for purpose" of its technology, overall effectiveness of the product, and the ability to deliver return on investment (ROI) to customers. Kalido was also recognized for its continued commitment to master data management (MDM). Kalido's customers have been implementing MDM projects with the KALIDO software for years, more recently with Kalido's innovative master data management application (KALIDO MDM). Howard writes, "KALIDO MDM...remains a solution that is ahead of the market."
According to the report, many data warehouses fail due to the design of the warehouse. Unlike other solutions that address only IT requirements, Kalido uses a business model-driven approach to architect and manage the data warehouse, enabling IT to align with the changing needs of the business. By empowering organizations to deal with the complexities of managing critical business data around the globe, despite ongoing business change, KALIDO combines powerful flexibility, data consolidation and data governance capabilities for a 360-degree view of the organization and powerful decision making capabilities.
"Organizations have been demanding pre-built solutions that reduce the time and costs associated with building and maintaining a data warehouse, and Kalido has spent years meeting that demand with its adaptive software," said Dr. Michael Waclawiczek, vice president of marketing and product management at Kalido. "While other vendors have tried to address this need, only Kalido's enterprise data warehousing software delivers the flexibility organizations require to keep up with changing business and market needs. We are very pleased with the evaluation results in this Bloor Research report, which not only asserts that 'packaged data warehouses' is a distinct new category of software that the market demands, but that Kalido is the clear leader in that category."
