MRO Software Earns Top Rating in ECPWeb's IT Asset Management Review; Maximo Enterprise Suite provides highest business value of all ITAM suites according to analyst's ''2006 Tools Review'' report
Business Wire, March 9, 2006
BEDFORD, Mass. -- MRO Software, the leading provider of asset and service management solutions, today received the highest business value rating of all information technology (IT) asset and software management suites reviewed as part of the "2006 Tools Review" in ECPWeb.com's Tools Manager report. ECPWeb is an independent research analyst and publishing organization covering technology asset, service and software management.
In a survey that included vendors such as BMC, CA and HP, MRO Software bested them all with a 3.95 rating for its Maximo ITAM, a component of Maximo Enterprise Suite (MXES). "MRO Software's Maximo ITAM received the highest rating for business value functions of the all suite tools we reviewed," said Steven Russman, managing partner and publisher, ECPWeb.com. "Created from the ground up, it has everything you'd expect from a leading tool for IT asset-management repository."
MXES includes not only key ITAM capabilities but also advanced IT Service Desk functionality, thereby enabling companies to consolidate their disparate IT Service Management (ITSM) systems onto one modern platform. In addition to the systems consolidation, MXES allows consolidation of key ITSM business processes including incident and problem management and change and configuration management leveraging a single Configuration Management Database (CMBD). With a single modern platform, MXES can leverage the common business processes between ITAM and ITSM. This consolidated service approach provides improved responsiveness and performance while reducing the costs associated with managing multiple systems.
While MXES earned high marks across the board, ECPWeb said the software suite stood out for its inventory management, vendor and catalog management, and configurable workflow features. "The system's programmable workflow designer configures and saves activities with rules for execution. We rate this fully Web-deployed suite a solid 4.5 for its usability and well-designed user interface, full security and audit control for creating user rights, roles and profiles. Unlike many systems we review, end users may be granted rights to customize their personal data views," concluded Russman.
"We are pleased that MXES received the highest ranking for business value from ECPWeb," said Rich Caplow, director of product marketing for MRO Software. "In addition to building solutions that are completely web architected, we make every effort to ensure that the business processes we support are driving value for the customer as well. ECPWeb's recognition of MXES's business value reflects our commitment to providing a solution that is as useful to the business as it is well-designed."
MRO Software will be demonstrating the complete functionality of MXES at the Help Desk Institute Conference & Expo, to be held in Memphis, TN, March 19-22, 2006.
