Entriq Announces Launch of Access Controls for Macromedia Flash

Business Wire, May 1, 2006

SAN DIEGO -- Leading security features power Flash for greater commerce and security capability

Entriq, a company that helps content providers realize new revenue streams from their multimedia content, today announced that it now enables access control for multimedia content authored in Macromedia Flash to enable the protection and sale of content online. This allows content providers who use the Entriq service to have a comprehensive set of access control rules that they can apply to their content authored in Flash. These rules include the ability to block or allow content in certain geographic regions, restrict access to content for a set duration or timeframe, allow purchase of the content as pay per view and/or in a subscription package, and permit free previews prior to pay.

Entriq has launched this capability in response to growing customer demand and its market position as the leading cross platform solution provider for content providers seeking to monetize their content.

"Enabling our customers to add content security in a Flash environment is important because Macromedia Flash continues to grow in popularity as a technology for building rich and engaging Internet applications and streaming multimedia content on the Internet," said Scott Crowder, COO of Entriq. ""Our customers look to us to provide the tools for them to monetize their content so that they can focus on creating compelling and creative content and successfully marketing that content."."

Dave Graves, CEO of PermissionTV, creator of channels such as Martin Grove's Update Hollywood (www.updatehollywood.com), is excited about the future of media companies as they are now able to build highly creative and involving user experiences.

"We believe that Flash enables us to create the best experience possible for those looking for multimedia content. Being able to utilize the access control features that Entriq makes available now makes Flash an attractive tool for those wishing to sell their content," he said. "At the same time being able to plug in to the industry's most flexible and scalable solution by Entriq for deploying new media business models opens up entirely new avenues for content providers."
