Open Biosystems' Open Access RNAi Program Provides CIC bioGUNE with shRNAmir Technology; Open Biosystems Gains Momentum in European RNAi Market

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Open Biosystems, Inc., focused on the commercialization of leading-edge life science research tools for drug discovery, today announced that Bilbao, Spain-based CIC bioGUNE has joined its Open Access RNAi Program. Through this program, CIC bioGUNE has purchased Open Biosystems' whole-genome human retroviral shRNAmir library.

With a commitment to accelerating research processes that lead to innovation, CIC bioGUNE is focused on optimizing its technological and scientific capacities to identify, prevent and cure disease. Consistent with the organization's stated goals, RNAi is a valuable research tool that is experiencing rapid adoption and leading to unprecedented developments in the treatment and diagnosis of disease. Open Biosystems' Open Access Program provides CIC bioGUNE's affiliated researchers with access to a whole-genome retroviral library without imposing heavy financial burdens. The program also offers an off-site backup for the library.
