BancTec Takes DocuScan to New Levels of Power and Precision; Company's Experience in Building Solutions Bears Fruit in New Product Features
Business Wire, May 16, 2006
PHILADELPHIA -- BancTec, a global provider of document and remittance processing solutions, today unveiled additional capabilities for the DocuScan line of ultra high-speed, mixed-document scanners. BancTec will demonstrate the enhancements at AIIM Expo 2006, Booth #1030, from May 16-18 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
"BancTec introduced the DocuScan 9000 two years ago at the AIIM Expo, and it has quickly emerged as one of the best-selling products of its kind," said Michael D. Fallin, BancTec senior vice president and president of the company's operations in the Americas. "The key to this success has been BancTec's solution-oriented approach; we continually enhance our technology based on our real-world experience in building solutions for our customers."
"These enhancements demonstrate BancTec's commitment to listening to its customers, as well as its resellers, to offer the premier solution for complex, high-volume scanning applications," said Mark Schneider of CRI, a Virginia-based technology-management consulting firm and reseller of BancTec solutions. "We know we can depend on BancTec technology to stay ahead of the curve."
The DocuScan is an ultra high-speed, mixed document scanner that is capable of processing up to 95,000 documents in an eight-hour shift. DocuScan enhancements include:
--Expanded ink-jet printing capabilities, including barcodes and other graphics to accommodate increasing demand from large outsourcers.
--Unparalleled ability to make high-speed, real-time sort decisions prior to imaging by implementing a control point module.
--The ability to process extra thick or extra long documents with a new run-out pocket.
--Increased ability to integrate with client systems by making XML output a standard feature, in addition to ASCII output.
--With the growing need for electronic endorsement, the DocuScan now offers a built-in audit trail within the data file. This does not require the purchase of additional hardware.
--Broadened ability to meet growing client demands for the scanning of both low and high resolution documents, from 100 - 300 dpi.
--Seamless and fast processing of a wide variety of forms through the addition of an OCR design editor that enables the "rope and zone" function.
The enhanced DocuScan builds upon standard capabilities such as the ability to automatically process co-mingled checks, envelopes, tri-fold letters and legal-sized pages in a single batch. It also eliminates the need to manually pre-sort documents by size and type, or to hand-feed difficult documents. The DocuScan product line includes the DocuScan 9000 intelligent document processing solution and the DocuScan 6000 high-volume page scanner.
