Sapient Delivers Enterprise Architecture Solution to Support the NIH Mission; Traffic to NIH Enterprise Architecture Site Increases 300 Percent

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Sapient (NASDAQ: SAPE) today announced that it partnered with the Office of the Chief IT Architect (OCITA) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in a project designed to increase use of the enterprise architecture which supports the NIH's overall mission. Sapient worked with OCITA to rebuild and improve the NIH Enterprise Architecture website, http://enterprisearchitecture.nih.gov. The new site is designed to help NIH staff and contractors adopt the policies and frameworks required to develop and deploy IT solutions that enable efficient business processes.

The NIH is the primary federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research in the U.S. and throughout the world. The NIH Enterprise Architecture is the framework that defines how information, people, processes and technology should work together to support the NIH's business operations.
By improving the NIH Enterprise Architecture online resource with additional tools and support and making it easier to navigate, Sapient has helped the NIH realize important business benefits, including increased process efficiencies, faster solution design and development, and greater interoperability. Additionally, Sapient created a strategic communications plan to increase awareness of the new site. As a result of the redesign and communications plan, online traffic has already increased by 300 percent over last year.

Sapient was a subcontractor on this project to prime contractor SRA International, Inc. (NYSE: SRX) of Fairfax, Virginia. SRA is a leading provider of technology and strategic consulting services and solutions to clients in national security, civil government, and health care and public health and is supporting the development and implementation of NIH's EA program, Web technologies, and information technology infrastructure. SRA was awarded the contract under the Chief Information Officer Solutions and Partners 2 Innovations (CIO-SP2i) contract.
